This past weekend was spent driving 4 hours to Ft Worth,Texas home of a very special brewery. Rahr & Sons Brewing Company is nestled in the heart of Ft. Worth. We arrived just in time on Saturday to watch the people coming from everywhere just to get in for the infamous Saturday Brew Tour. Once inside we got a couple glasses and away we went to try out some of their best beers such as Texas Red, an amber lager full of hoppy spice and the specialty beer of the day, Gravel Road, German-Style Sticke Altbier. There was live music by Shinyribs out of Austin to entertain the entire crowd. This place was really jumping, full of people who really love craft beer. AND this is what happens every Saturday! And Wednesday! Rahr really knows how to host a crowd.
Our main host for the day was none other than Tony Drewery aka The Beer Pedaler (find him on twitter @beerpedaler.) We had a moment to sit down with him and talk a little bit about the brew tour and some of Rahr’s fabulous brews. Incidently, the brew master was sitting right beside us as we did.
But the brew tour wasn’t the only reason we made the trip to Ft. Worth, it was Tony’s 37th Birthday Bash hosted at the brewery. So after filling our bellies full of delicious beer, we were off to rest up for an evening of fun.
Tony’s party was amazing. There were at least 100 people there and, once again, Shinyribs provided the shake your booty, stomp your boots dance music. Quite a few people did just that in the middle of the tap room. YES! Tacos was parked just outside to provide all the tacos your could stuff your face with. They were delicious.
After returning home and relazing a bit, we recorded a video that shows a compilation of our visit including some photos. I hope you enjoy it! Be sure to stop by Rahr & Sons Facebook and catch Tony on Twitter.
